Our mission is to

Restore the Lives of Families, Reconcile & Impact a Generation.

Purpose

The Ministry of Reconciliation

MISSION

Restoring Families through Camp style, Trauma Informed, Christ Centered programs.

Vision

To Impact a Generation and Reach the Nation through Discipleship, and to Equip our Students with Life and Leadership Skills.

Your support will reconcile families.

Christian Haven was founded in 1952 with the mission to "glorify God through ministering to the needs of troubled youth in a supportive, therapeutic, united Christian community."

The Legacy Campaign is our initiative to purchase Wheatfield Academy, which includes the 101 acres, facilities and operating programs - so that we can continue the mission of Christian Haven and impact a generation.

Fundraising Goal: $1.5 million

Allows us to acquire the property and program of Wheatfield Academy.

5 Year Vision

Launch Father Community on the grounds of the original program, Christian Haven, as a space for fathers to redeem their identity as Godly men and a summer camp program for fathers and sons to reconnect and move forward in life together through direct discipleship.

Faithful & Visionary Owner

Christian Haven was revived by David Wallkerr who had a vision to see the legacy of the old way of Christian Haven be honored and restored so that families, fathers and sons specifically, could be encouraged to step more fully into their identity as Godly Men, Christ-like Fathers, and Dearly Loved Sons.

Our goal is to raise $1.5 million to purchase Wheatfield Academy to continue the focused mission of restoring the lives and hope of struggling teens and their families.

You may be asking...

I thought Christian Haven closed?

It did, Christian Haven closed as a functioning nonprofit in 2015. In 2021, David Wall purchased the name, Christian Haven, with the goal to rejuvenate the organization with a renewed vision that honored it's faith based values. (Hear more about it here.)

What if you don't reach your fundraising goal?

If Christian Havens does not outright purchase Wheatfield Academy for $1.5 million by 1/31/24, then we will move into a Contract Sale with a Purchase Agreement for $1.85M over 3 years with Wheatfield Farm, LLC as the Managing Partner. This is not an ideal scenario because it leaves Lasting Change as owner of the property & all activities, and runs risk of Wheatfield Academy closing and all services ending.

What is Wheatfield Academy?

Wheatfield Academy is a therapeutic, faith-based boarding school in Wheatfield, Indiana for young men ages 12-17 who are struggling with behavioral and mental health issues. It currently operates on 101 acre property in Wheatfield, Indiana.

Wheatfield Academy is a part of Lasting Change, Inc, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lasting Change provides mental health counseling services for both Christian and secular community around the U.S. and internationally.

After the money is raised, then what happens?

Great question! Our first initiative is to complete the purchase of Wheatfield Academy. We will then rehab the admissions and marketing of Wheatfield Academy in order to lower tuition rates, increase our reach, and positively impact more families from across the nation.

We will then introduce new programs and facilities that further the ministry of reconciliation for the community and region.

"This is the first hug I can remember where he pulled us in tight to him. There were tears all around.

We are so thankful of all the hard work of everyone at there. You’re making a difference!"

Dad of Teen

Hi, thank you for your prayers for our son. The Lord surely knew what he needed and has sustained us all on this journey. Sending blessings to all of you and we are so very thankful for the part you played in our son’s healing.

Mom of Teen

It is overwhelming to see an entire team of people sitting around a table who are praying and working tirelessly for my son's good. It means more than you know, and I just want you to know how indescribably grateful we are for God’s call on your lives, for your willingness to follow His leadership, and for His grace in and through you in all that you do day in and day out.
